Sikkim Gov. UJALA Scheme – An Energy Efficient Scheme (How to Apply): Minister for energy & power and labour department of Sikkim launched UJALA scheme in Sikkim with an objective of moving towards green energy. With increasing number of industries in the state the power consumption is also rising, to lower the same Sikkim State Designated Agency (SSDA) with Energy Efficiency Service Limited (EESL) launches the UJALA scheme.
Mr. D.D Bhutia on the occasion said “Sikkim has always shown positive attitude towards the adaptation of green energy”. Under this scheme LED bulbs and tube lights will be distributed in the state by various EESL store at prices much lower than the market price.
Consumer can buy high quality 9W LED bulb at Rs 70 and LED tube light at Rs 230 each. Around 14.5lakh LED bulbs and 8.7lakhs tube lights will be distributed in the state. Every family cam buy up to 10 LED bulb and 6 LED tube lights.
Consumer will see drastic decrease in their electricity bills after using the LEDs. Every house using the LEDs will save the daily energy of 7.04crore KWH.
Any technical faults in the LEDs in the future will be handled by the EESL persons. For registering any complaint regarding the LED consumer can visit the distribution centres or can lodge their complaint online.
